These fees go to operations costs and enable us to keep the park open to the public year-round.
HP40 Rates and Pricing
All user fees go directly to park operations, such as utilities, equipment, materials, repairs, maintenance, etc. These user fees offset the various costs and expenses of keeping the park open to the public, so you may enjoy it year-round. In order to keep these user fees to a minimum, you must help us keep your costs and human impact to a minimum. Please leave no trace of your visit. Please respect and protect the natural features and creatures that are found here. Please do no damage to HP40 property and faciliites. Let us know if you see something that needs our attention. You can help us greatly by being our eyes and ears as you enjoy the park. If you see trash, please pick it up or let us know so we can clean it up. We take great pride in keeping the park clean. We thank you for your help.
HP40 makes periodic donations to local charities, Volunteer Fire Depts. etc., and also hosts an equine (and various other animals) rescue program here inside the park. When you purchase firewood from the park, a major portion goes to support the horses in the equine rescue program. You are welcome to pet, treat, spoil, and otherwise enjoy the horses here. We do not normally allow our guests to ride the rescued horses, as many will have a physical defect that got them here in the first place. We do sometimes allow 'lead-arounds' at children's, birthday parties with a donation to the equine rescue program. Inquire well in advance of your event.
All special events hosted by HP40 are required by our family to give a portion of the proceeds to a local charity and/or VFD. There are no wages or paychecks at HP40. All park staff are volunteers, many of whom live here, either full or part time. It works like an old family farm...those who live here, must work here, those who work here, normally live here.. All work here is done by the hands of the HP40 staff, most of whom are members of our family or close family friends.
